Hi Susannah
I hope all is well with you.
I'd like to update you on our Palestinian women's visit.
Three women, Im Shadi, Afnan and Naheel will be arriving next Monday to stay for 3 nights. We have two events organised, one at the Pickle Factory in Easton on Tuesday 14th, which is a woman only gathering, and one at the Palestinian museum on Wednesday 15th.
A beautiful poster has been designed for us by a local Bristol artist, Aumairah, promoting these events, which I have attached.
We are also organising a demo on College Green on Monday at 5.30. I have attached the flyer for this, too.
If you could share these with your Cowgirls and Cowboys, that would be amazing! We would just like as many people as possible to hear what the women have to say about their life in the occupied West Bank.
Huge thanks for your continued support.
with best wishes
Katherine

There will be a full club BGM on Tuesday 7th March at 7.30pm.
This is likely to be at Easton Community Centre but TBC
We have a number of important things to discuss like the introduction of
a new refugee team into the club so please spread far and wide and can
Manager’s really encourage their teams to come along.
Myself, Linners and Vic will also have to step down from the committee
at the AGM in the summer so we need to start discussing who will take
over.
Apologies to the Basketball team as I know this clashes with your
training but we just couldn’t find a suitable alternative day. If you
are able to send a couple of representatives that would be great.
If anyone has any agenda items please send them to me by Monday 20th Feb
and I will share the agenda on 21st.
Thanks all, Soooooz

Subject: Urgent appeal and message from the community of Um Al-Khair
Dear friends and allies
The community of Umm Al Khair is under siege
Lately, occupation forces have been using an old\new tool aimed at breaking the steadfastness of our village. This tool has crippled the ability of Umm Al Khair residents (and, indeed, the entire South Hebron Hills) to freely move from one point to another as the Israeli Police and Army confiscated all of the vehicles in the area under the pretext that they are “illegal”. We know the goal is not to enforce the law, but rather to put more pressure on the community to drive us out of our land. Stories of girls, women, boys, the sick and the elderly being stranded for long hours are abundant in the community due to the lack of any vehicles after all of them were confiscated by the occupation. However, We owe it to the people of Umm Al Khair to stop this detrimental policy from hindering the freedom of their movement.
To enhance the steadfastness of the residents of Umm Al Khair and to make sure that the not only transportation needs of its population are met, the Umm Al Khair community is planning to purchase a vehicle ( a legal one) and this is where we need YOUR HELP
WE NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE to buy a new car for the community. Your donations would be HIGHLY appreciated. You can donate using either of the following two accounts. Please specify that the donation is aimed at purchasing a vehicle for Umm Al Khair ( if you find that option or just donate and we will know it's from you).
For donations in the UK, please use this link (and giftaid it, if you can)
