Subject: Queer football panel
To: salwood82(a)gmail.com <salwood82(a)gmail.com>
Yo!
Looking for people to be part of a panel discussion on zoom talking about
your lived experience as an LGBT+ or queer person playing football.
I will be hosting the panel. It’ll be fun and relaxed, we’ll be unpacking
good and bad experiences of queerness in football. Absolutely no experience
necessary in regards to speaking on a panel.
The event will be held in February at some point for LGBT+ history month,
will let folks know exact dates soon.
It’s a collaboration with an organisation called Football vs Homophobia who
I’ve started freelancing with. It’s a paid gig. If any questions please
feel free to contact me via sharifawjames(a)gmail.com

Good evening all!
As you can imagine from yesterday’s prime time telly, we’re not allowed to train right now. Poo.
However, Marcella has kindly offered her amazing workout again, so:
If you would like to join via Zoom, please let me know ASAP by sending a message to 07944216036 or replying to me via email. It’ll be 7:30-8:15pm on Thursday, cost £4 / 3 (waged / unwaged), payable in advance to Marcella directly.
We will then meet in the ‘virtual pub’ after. Someone will send out new links closer to the time.
Thanks all! Hope you’re all ok. If anyone is not ok, chat to someone. I’m always happy to, as are lots of other Cows. Let’s look after our herd.
Becs xx
Hello!
Please let me know if you are planning to come to training this Thursday -
it will be the LAST session this year.
CAB will be closed until the New Year, so our next session after this week
will be the 07/01/2021.
I won't be there on Thursday, so hope you all have as good a festive season
as possible in these weird times!
All the cow love,
Becs
Hello!
Anyone willing / able to look into maybe doing a nomination for the Plough
/ the club / someone specific in relation to the Community Veg box that has
been running since March for this: Lord Mayor's medals - bristol.gov.uk
<https://www.bristol.gov.uk/council-and-mayor/lord-mayors-medals>
I think it might need to be for a specific person and you can't nominate
yourself / your partner. Maybe we could nominate Angelo or something like
that?
I haven't got time just now to look into it, sorry, but thought I'd share
to see if anyone else can.
Thanks folks, hopefully see you tonight at training! REMEMBER: wear masks
for going through the building to the pitch and if you are coming please
let me know in advance!
All the cow love,
Becs
Hello all!
TRAINING IS BACK ON!!!
Wohooo!!! We can go back to City Academy for 2 sessions before Christmas (10 and 17/12/2020).
If you are coming this Thursday please send me a message in advance - ideally I need to let them know ahead of time who is coming. We will also need to manage numbers carefully so let me know asap - my number is 07944216036 or email me.
DONT FORGET: bring a face mask and wear it when we’re going through the building to the pitch. Use the alcohol gel provided. And not to lick or drink it...
Travel to training is sadly only ok for people from Bristol, N Somerset and S Glos as they are all in Tier 3 right now. That might change if/when tiers change.
See you in a couple of days!!!!!!!!

Hello all,
I have literally just had a message from City Academy telling me that they still don’t know if they will be open this week / on Thursday. They are waiting on an announcement from the FA before making a decision.
So, as it stands, we sadly have to assume that there will be NO in-person training this week, unless you hear otherwise from me or someone else in the committee before then.
However, if there is no in-person training there will still be a HITT session with Marcella for the same cost of training (£4 waged / £3 unwaged. I’m not sure I should admit this but I possibly sweat more during Marcie’s sessions that I would during some training sessions, so it’s definitely money well spent.
I will forward you anything even remotely resembling an update as soon as I have it.
We will get back to training! Maybe not this week, but soon!
Becs x
Hello everyone!
I’m sure you were all as excited as I was to hear that grassroots football can re-start at the end of Lockdown 2.0 regardless of what tier we are in. YAY!
Thing is, we are also reliant on City Academy opening their pitches again, so I’ve emailed them to find out more. Right now, they have told me that they have requested some additional information from the FA and are waiting on that before making a decision. So we don’t know yet. BOO! But I will let you all know what is happening about training next week as soon as I know more, promise.
Please cross your fingers and toes. Hopefully see you on the pitch soon!
All the Cow-love,
Becs

Dear Friends of Soccer Without Borders Nicaragua,
It's my great pleasure to invite you to FSF Granada's first-ever storytelling event to close out Year 13 of its operation. While the challenges of this pandemic year have been many, one of the silver linings has been greater virtual connectivity. With this storytelling, we are excited to open a window into how the program, staff, and participants have been resilient to the many challenges that 2020 has brought, as well as what new developments are in store for 2021.
>From the recent hurricanes, to the pandemic health risks, to drastically limited tourism that dates back to the Spring 2018 civil unrest, the world has thrown everything but the kitchen sink at FSF Granada over the last few years. But the incredible staff, led by Co-Directors Veronica Balladares and César Morales, has not let those external conditions define nor derail them. With program alumnae now holding two-thirds of coaching positions, including our 7 university scholarship recipients serving as assistant coaches, the program has established a new generation of leaders who are role models, leaders within their teams and projects, and collaborators in shaping the vision of FSF for the future.
We know that Zoom fatigue is real and that screen time is excessive. Our goal is not to add to that excess, but rather to connect you all to the on-the-ground work of building a more equitable world for women and girls through the eyes and words of those who are living this change every day (translated to English!). You have been a meaningful part of the Soccer Without Borders journey in Granada, through its most vulnerable days and its strongest days. During the hour, we plan to keep the Zoom chat open so that the time together can also serve as a chance to connect directly with one another.
I hope you'll consider joining us for this unique virtual event at 17:00pm UK time/11:00am Nica time on Tuesday, December 1st. The invitation is attached, and you can RSVP here to attend<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__docs.google.com_forms_…> or to receive a follow-up with a copy of the recording.
Abrazos,
Mary

Hi Peace,
Here is the poster for Alissar's fundraiser. It would be great if you could send to any likely to order Easton Cowgirls / Boys contacts.
Do you think we can also send it to PMCC volunteers? Is it better coming from you?
thanks
Hx
Hello all!
We have had a request to access the Cowgirls Hardship Fund, which is over the £50 that the Cowgirls Committee can decide on so it needs a whole club decision. Please read the below and email me by Tuesday, 17/11/2020 if you have any objections to the funds requested being accessed through the hardship fund.
Little Purple Fran (captain of Uddersfield United, striker extraordinaire and one of the Italian crew) has requested a loan of £250 to pay for legal fees in trying to get access to her children. She separated from her ex over 1.5 years ago, and they tried to work out things like contact between them. But it’s not working any more. So she is now in contact with a solicitor who is going to write a letter with a suggestion of a way forward. This solicitor was recommended as an LGBTQ specialist. Sadly legal aid is not an option just now, but Fran is looking into it.
In order to do this quickly Fran would like to borrow £250 from the fund, and she’ll pay it back to the Cowgirls in small instalments. If agreed, I will work out the repayment with her.
Please let me know if you have any concerns or objections about us using the Cowgirls Hardship Fund to help Fran out by Tuesday, 17/11/2020.
Thanks!
