Stolen from Aid Box Convoy on Facebook. I know we discussed this at AGM
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE SENDING AID TO UKRAINE We saw this when we were out in the French refugee camps, uncoordinated aid deliveries all done with the best intentions but actually causing a lot of work for the people out in the front line and undignified mess, tons of wasted clothes that ended up being trampled through the mud or used as fuel on fires creating horrendous smoke that caused lung problems. If you want to …
[View More]support people in Ukraine from the UK the message we are hearing loud and clear from Ukraine, Poland, Moldavia, and Romania are please SEND FUNDS NOT AID. Unless you are sending through a larger experienced organisation. This organisation is UK based and is collecting aid. They are reputable and experienced. Hope and Aid Direct https://www.facebook.com/1032050693483509/posts/5263081867047016/ It is better to donate funds directly to groups on the ground, which will support them with immediate needs. Information of groups already on the ground: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10160273329237975&id=560827974 If the groups do not reply, it means they are busy. Be patient. A UK organisation who are also incredible and worth donating funds to are: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/RefugeeSupportUkraine We in the UK will be welcoming a small number of Refugees from Ukraine and have other asylum seekers and refugees who still need your help. We will be preparing to welcome Ukrainian refugees to Bristol Aid Box Community - Hope and Help to Refugees you can donate fund or items - items needed are listed in our website. Thank you so much❤

Hello!
Right, this might be a bit longer but please read this all the way through.
Firstly, this is to confirm that we will be holding an AGM on Monday, 28/02 at 7.30pm IN PERSON (I will try very hard not to have Covid again) at the Easton Community Centre opposite the Plough.
PLEASE COME! We are not scary and it’s not half as boring as it sounds. It’s a fab place to find out more about the club as a whole, chat through concerns / plans / ideas and generally get together off thepitch. No …
[View More]doubt we will head to the Plough after for a wee beverage. How about this: I’ll bring some cake / biscuits - anyone else fancy making something? Bring tea. Bring beer. Whatever takes your fancy. But please turn up.
If you can’t be there for Covid / childcare / other decent reasons I’ll try to make it a hybrid meeting but most of us will know how well that works… (not). Remind me and I’ll send out a link.
I will send out a full agenda closer to the time, but the main thing we will be doing is voting on the new cow-committee for the next year. I have attached a summary of the roles and who is doing them just now (sorry if I have missed anyone!). There is no guarantee that those who are currently in roles would want to do it again - so have a look and please consider standing for a role. This club will only run / function / work if we put in a wee bit of effort. It’s fun and you might learn something new - there’s no experience necessary, honest!
On that note: I’d like to announce my intention to stand down as chair of the Easton Cowgirls Football Club. I’ve been doing it for about 1.5 years and it has been an amazing pleasure and honour to support this utterly shambolic family!!! It’s just that there’s a wee bit too much else going on for me right now with a new job and some other stuff so it’s all a wee bit exhausting. It’s an Auf Wiedersehen (bye for now) - who knows, I might stand again sometime in years to come! If anyone has any interest in stepping up please let me know!!! I am more than happy to mentor / shadow / support as much or as little as folk want.
The minutes of the last meeting are attached - please have a peek as there’s a lot of important info in there. If anyone spots any mistakes please let me know!
Fancy shiny shirts: I NEED YOUR ORDERS! If you would like a fancy shirt (not new kit, just pretty awesome shirts and shorts!) please let me know the answers to the list below. Thing is, the sizing is tiny as it appears that Italian firms cater mainly for tall skinny folk. I have therefore agreed with Tom from the Cowboys that we will be able to meet him this Saturday (12/02) at the Plough from 4pm to try on a shirt to get an idea. I think he has an M or an L to try… I will then figure something out as to how to get them here. The LAST DAY for orders is the day of the AGM - so the 28/02/2022!!!!
Name
What number you want on the back
Whether you also want shorts (please don’t ask me precise costs - the cost of the whole thing is somewhere around £25-30, so without shorts it’ll likely be a wee bit less). I will try to find out by the AGM or even before.
Couple of things about future dates:
This Saturday, 12/02: meet outside Sports Direct in cowgirls kit / anything red and black, Palestine kit or colours to kick a ball about and raise awareness of the evil stupid feckers at Puma still sponsoring the Israeli Football Association.
Tournament Fundraiser: the date has changed - the party of all parties (other than the tournament itself) will now happen on Saturday, 23/04 at All Hallows.
Next Tournament Meeting: Monday, 07/03 at the Easton Community Centre (most likely).
Saturday, 26/02 - next Casual League Match day. Watch out for further info about match times! And come to Brunel Academy to support :)
Saturday, 26/02 - Cowgirls Christmas Meal 7pm, Gloucester Old Spot at Kellaway Avenue - if you’re not already signed up please speak to Wendle or me or someone else who seems to have a vague idea. Ideally ask Wendle about the menu, and then change your mind a couple of times ;)
Did I mention there’s an AGM on Monday, 28/02 at the Easton Community Centre? I did? Ok, see you there!
That’s all I can think of for now. I’m sure I’ve forgotten something! Please send what I’ve forgotten and any agenda items for the meeting my way!
Ta muchly!

Hey y'all,
the next tournament meeting is on Monday at 7:30pm at the Red Lion on
Whitehall Road. We're going to start designating subgroups so now's the
time to get involved.
What's the 'tournament'?
For those that don't know, we're part of a network of like-minded clubs
around the UK, Europe and even Brazil. Every year (covid-aside) one team
hosts a huge get-together-party-tournament in their country. This year
we're doing it, and we're doing it big cos it's the Cowfolks 30th
anniversary. …
[View More]There's camping, football, netball, kids activities, food,
booze, bands, dj's, discussions and general merriment and craziness.
There'll be 2 footy tournaments - a mixed one and a female/non-binary one.
Why get involved?
Otherwise the best event of the year won't flipping happen. There's no core
committee running this - it takes everyone doing one or 2 little jobs to
pull it off. The feeling of watching folk from all over the world enjoying
themselves when you've chipped in is satisfying as fuck. It's also a great
way to get to know the lovely folks in the wider club - netballers, mens
footballers, cricketers, kids klub gang and old legends.
If you love the Cowfolk, come to the meeting, see what's involved and see
if there's any way you can chip in.

*Cancellation*
Hey cows, the committee have decided that postponing the Crimbo meal and
rescheduling for early next year is a wise plan.
There are too many risk factors with Covid, keeping safe and Crimbo plans.
Apologies and muchos love, I'm chatting to the pub and we will book in at a
dif date in nearby 2022.
Any questions, PM me
Wendle xx

Factory operated by Solvay, supplying materials and adhesives for Elbit, shut down this morning

Palestine Action Activists Found NOT GUILTY After Defacing Israeli Arms Company
Three Palestine Action activists, dubbed the ‘Elbit Three’, have today been found not guilty of criminal damage charges in a trial taking place at Newcastle-under-Lyme Magistrates Court. The trial, which commenced on Friday 3rd December, saw Elbit Systems and the Crown Prosecution Service attempt to criminalise individuals who took a stand against the manufacture of drones and drone parts. The products manufactured at the site of the protest, the UAV Engines factory in Shenstone, Staffordshire, are key components for a range of Elbit’s combat drones, used extensively by Israel for bombardments of Gazan civilians.
Elbit Systems are Israel’s largest private arms company, supplying 85% of Israel’s drone fleet. Their Hermes drones, manufactured with UK-made components, are regularly deployed in bombardments of Gaza, with Elbit also supplying a range of surveillance equipment, armaments, and specialist military technologies for the Israeli military and police. Palestine Action have undertaken a campaign of sustained direct action against Elbit Systems – across their 10 sites in the UK – with this action in Shenstone having occured in January 2021, six months since Palestine Action launched. Despite many dozens of actions taken, and over £15,000,000 in damages caused (according to police), this is the first time that activists had faced trial, with all previous charges having been dropped in the run-up to trial dates.
The presiding judge, Judge Waites, stated that the Crown had failed to prove that convicting the defendents would be proportionate with their freedom to protest. He stated further points which included: Palestine is an important issue, the arms trade is an important issue, the defendants believed in what they were doing, and the location was specifically chosen. These are the points that Palestine Action has long stated: through targetted and deliberate direct action, individuals can make a measured impact on the lives of civilians in Palestine by disrupting and undermining Israel’s arms trade.
