Hi Lanre,
OpenVZ has it's stregth if you try to run many small linux systems on
one host since it has a very small cpu footprint. It is very limited if
you want to install any OS or if you want to control resources since it
is not a "full" hardware virtualisation like vmware, kvm. Therefore you
can't install images like on real hardware simulation and all VMs use
the same kernel.
Since Alfresco is soo hungry in terms of resources I think it makes no
sense to loose a lot of flexibility and usability by using OpenVZ to
save CPU resources. In that calculation we can easily ignore the cpu
consumtion vmware and kvm requires.
So let us go for vmware to keep us compatible with best practice in real
live and to allow us to share VMs.
