Hi Martin,

yes - I know that and there are similar approaches directly from 
wordpress: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-tumblr/

The only point is: this can be broken very easy with every update if 
tumblr likes to.
If installation/hosting is you concern I'm willing to install/host it on 
a separate VM until weekend so that you can add it to the DNS.
