for me the discussion is always keeping this in mind and I just try to 
show up consequences not to keep on the best practice route or to try 
out something new poping up somewhere.
I would prefer to discuss / explain it once if there are doubts/open 
questions with everyone who's interested instead of discussing it again 
and again out of context.
