This is more about AWS being expensive, nothing else.

You do have to understand what S3 is and what you are getting in terms of
redundancy and availability.

It is much cheaper to lease a single dedicated server:
https://www.hetzner.de/fi/hosting/produktmatrix/rootserver-produktmatrix-sx

But then you need to figure out redundancy on your own.
