[OOTB-hive] platform ideas

Sure fine, but at this moment we don't really have a so called unity on
the platforms.

- Some use #IRC to chat: it's one of the least form now a days which is
used as a chat platform.
- We use mailinglist as our main communication channel: too many flaws,
but to sum it up: too much mail, on digest not an easy way to reply. No
real GUI to search, reply, create new, etc.
I'd suggest to use redmine to make different projects or use Github as
we have here: https://github.com/OrderOfTheBee and keep on using it as
the main channel.
The way from topics to issues is. I rather have Redmine for issue &
project tracking and have Github pure for code and code issues.

If we want to do it right, then let's vote for the main platform used.
I vote for the following:
- Chat: Skype
- Main communication channel: Redmine
- Code repo: Github

Best regards,

Tahir Malik

I think it is important that we use Alfresco only for what it is meant to
be used for, ie, document management. Sure, you can make it do just about
anything you want it to do but there is no justification for us to do that,
and, as Heiko points out, it could potentially be wasteful of
resources.None of us are doing this full-time so that is an important
concern.

Let's be good examples to others and use the best tool for the job given
our constraints, even if that means Alfresco isn't always the choice.
