- There will be two sections to the tournament this year (see below). All played on GRASS. Suggested cost is £5 per person. Please do not let cost be a barrier to participation and message Alice for any questions about costs for your team.
- Mixed tournament – this is all for genders and we encourage all teams to diversify their squad as much as possible in regards to gender
- Women, transgender and non-binary tournament – this is for anyone who identifies as women, non-binary and all transgender players.
- There will be a raffle with lots of wonderful prizes from local companies which will be also raising money for Andy's Mans Club and Leeds Survivor Led Crisis. We will also be selling Republica merchandise on the day which will also go towards fundraising
for our network tournament.
- We will be putting together a cold buffet of vegan and vegetarian foods with a suggested donation at £5 per person. Please pay by cash or via Paypal. There is also an excellent chippy across the road from New Moorside.
- There will be a pitch-side bar which will be cash and Paypal only. Cathy will also be selling her legendary Mexicanas throughout the day.
- May Day is about playing a football tournament in an environment that is free from aggression, oppression, and the toxicity that football can often bring. Although it’s about football, it’s more importantly about bringing together like-minded teams with similar
values to us and enjoying a footballing space together. We would like to remind all players that that we expect people to adhere to Republica’s Safer Spaces policy throughout the day and being inclusive and supportive of all players on the pitch. There will
be prizes for each team and the 1st place trophy will probably be the shittest so get ready to win ‘Best Dressed’, ‘Most Spirited’ or ‘Best Craic’ to name a few.
