I too am up for this. But I don’t know how we can be no contact but would like to hear about that and would also like to retain an Element if competition and mix of abilities

Hi,
just to say I'm up for this, I'm just having a good old think about what I'd want re rules. My initial thought is that age and style of play are very different things - so you can have over 35's who are very good/fast/hard and who want to win and you can have under 35's who are a bit timid or injured and would benefit from a non-contact game. Then there's the spirit in which the game is played - fun and friendly or competitive and aggy.

I wonder if no contact would be difficult to maintain in practise?

Hi Sooz,

I think this is a very good idea. I wonder though if the key point is age or style of play?

For me, the main reason to join this league would be if we played no-contact game (though I can pride myself of being eligible for an "over 35" league too ;)).

That would be rule number one for me. Then the league may be interesting also for people coming back from an injury, regardless of age.

If people agreed with this, then we may put it in the name too. For example, what about:

Super-Casual No-Contact No-Fuss Women Football League (SCNCNFWFL)

Good news is the acronym has not been taken yet!

Oggetto: [Easton-Cowgirls] Over 35’s league

Hi all,

So I have been in discussions with people about trying to start an over 35’s league.

One of the new casual league teams from last season aren’t continuing because they found even the development league too young and competitive. We have players in a similar position.

So what I want to know is....

Would you be interested in joining a new less competitive over 35’s league?

NB: in the men’s over 35 league they can have a certain number of players under 35 per team so you may still be able to join if younger and just want to play less competitively.

What would be important to you about defining the rules of this league? (to make sure it didn’t just turn into the same level as casual league)

Thanks all.

Plan is probably to try and kick it off in the new year and have a small season with a couple of teams
