Good morning all.
As most of you are aware it is the big weekend this weekend for the CowFolk celebrating 30 years of friendship and football. So numbers at training is going to be low. And more importantly Mark can't attend as he is preparing for the weekend.
So please ignore the previous email about training being on. TRAINING IS CANCELLED. Resume as normal on August 4th.
Thank you Sensimilia
FIVE DAYS TO GO!!!! So we’ve all signed up for the football, ironed our fish costumes, got our marigolds ready for a toilet scrubbing shift and avoided the pub all wkd to keep ourselves covid free (oh you didn’t?) BUT we have forgotten one small thing…. we need to raise £1500, by Friday.
Because we know we’re a shambles and would probably fail at this mighty task we agreed at the last meeting that we would all just pay £30 to get us some of the way there. So the time has come - if you’re going (or you’re not going but are just so happy for everyone having a lovely time without you) PLEASE CAN YOU PAY THIS INTO THE COWGIRLS ACCOUNT ASAP, with the reference Pearled Cup.
Sort code - 089299
Account - 65168055
We know times are tough so we’re suggesting a sliding scale - £30 waged / £20 living wage or below / £10 unwaged - as always money is never an object so if you can’t afford it don’t worry. If anyone is feeling all warm and fuzzy and would like to help subsidise the tournament for those who are skint, please chuck as much as you can in!
Thank you

Ahoy, Me Hearties!
It’s nearly time and we’re all very excited to welcome you down to the
(hopefully) sunny coast of Dorset. The site will be open from 12 noon on
Friday and if you haven’t bought your ticket for camping yet please try
and do this before you come
(https://www.tickettailor.com/events/eastoncowboyscowgirls/671287)
Here is some information and reminders to ensure you have the best
weekend!
What to bring…
Plates, cutlery, cups… we’re trying to reduce the amount of waste so
please bring these if you can
Your fancy dress outfit for Saturday night. The theme is UNDER THE SEA
Each team to bring their homemade trophy
Where to head to…
The campsite address is:
Sweet Hill Farm Camping
Sweet Hill Road
Southwell
Portland
DT5 2DS
The hotel address is:
Admiralty Hotel
Southwell Business park
Portland
DT5 2NA
Once you get here…
If you are arriving at the campsite you will be able to collect your
wristbands at the entrance. Alternatively, if you’ve booked a hotel
room, you’ll get your wristband on check-in. Adults won’t be served at
the bar without a one so if you arrive when there is no-one on the entry
gate get your wristband from the bar.
If you’re camping you can park by your tent, but be aware that you then
won’t be able to move your car until Monday. If you want to leave
earlier than that, you can park in the top camping field. There is also
parking around the hotel and industrial estate.
There are accessible toilets both in the campsite and by the pitches.
The hotel is fully accessible. Unfortunately the short-cut between the
campsite and pitches is not accessible to wheelchair users. Instead,
access to the tournament area is via the road. Wheelchair users may find
the showers on the campsite inaccessible. If so, there is an accessible
shower in the Admiralty hotel which wheelchair users are welcome to use.
Please keep dogs on leads around horses/cows and pick up after your dog.
There will be plenty of recycling bins and buckets for cigarette butts -
PLEASE USE THEM! We will have to pick up everything before we leave the
site so this will save us a lot of tidy-up time on a 3-day hangover.
Thank you.
The main bar will open from 2pm on Friday.
There is a full programme with all the details you should need for the
weekend so please purchase one.
Health and safety…
There are steep cliffs just beyond the site (beyond the coastal path) so
please be cautious if you are wondering around these areas
Covid levels are currently quite high in the UK, so please try to be
aware of this. The highest risk areas will be in the marquees at busy
times, especially during the mass-karaoke! Please try to test before
travelling, and stay away from others if you feel unwell. There will be
hand sanitiser at various locations for you to use. We know we haven't
seen each other for years and will be super excited to see each other
again - but please remember that some people may be vulnerable and/or
less comfortable with close physical contact, so check before you dive
in for that massive hug!!
See you really soon!

We are part of the Easton Cowboys & Cowgirls Sports and Social Club, a politically and socially focused organisation. As such, we expect members to get involved in the activities of the wider club as much as possible. Hi Amal,
Thank you for your message, after talking to the cow commitee, we do have space for another person for a few training sessions this summer if you'd like to join?
The training is at Oldbury Court in Fishponds, you can catch bus 48 or 49 from the centre. Hannah will give you some more information tomorrow if you're interested.
Many thanks,
Hannah and Sensi,
Chairwomen for the Easton Cowgirls
Hi Cows,
It’s really hot out there at the moment, so we’re sending a polite reminder of how to keep both yourself and other people safe whilst training in the heat. Please take a look as it’s important.
1. Bring enough water as it’s really important to stay hydrated. Also wear sunscreen, the late afternoon sun is still intense.
2. Playing on grass: Playing on a slightly uneven, bumpy surface also presents hazards. For this reason, make sure you warm up beforehand and don’t drink alcohol before training as it increases the risk of an accident happening. You’re welcome to have a drink or two afterwards of course!
3. Finally, just a reminder that training sessions are to increase fitness and get better at skills. No hard tackles in the matches at training please.
Thank you,
Hannah and Sensi

Subject: [thepalestinian] The June issue of THE PALESTINIAN
COVID has a serious effect on the production of THE PALESTINIAN. We attach the link to the June issue, despite serious restrictions, and apologise for the gap in publications.
The Palestinian people have had little to cheer about in the last few months, except for the fact that the BDS movement is growing fast in every country in the world including Israel.
Some major events in the pipe-line which we believe our comrades across the world will be making their voices heard.
We will be happy to include and publicise your campaign for Palestine if you contact us at the email address on Page 2.
This is the link to the June issue. Copy and paste into your browser. The print can be enlarged considerably by clicking on the X at the bottom right corner of page 1 Then use the wheel on your mouse to enlarge the page or a part of the page.
