Celebrating and sending a 'glimpse of hope' to HIRN in Palestine via Zoom

Hello all! Please see below for a message from Hamed, our friend and main contact in Hebron, Palestine, who has helped us massively with both Cowgirls trips to Palestine. It would be great to see some Cowgirls-faces at the meeting, which will be on the 01/06/2020 at 6pm UK time. If you are able to attend please let me know and I will forward you the zoom link! The year 2020 has been a tough one so far; between illness, a deadly virus that brought the world to stand still, a lock down that affected negatively all facets of life, an occupation that is entrenching itself even deeper with dire consequences (present and future) for the Palestinian population. With alllll that in mind, it seems that we have been reduced to be looking for glimpse of hope anywhere we can find it. We, at HIRN, thought that a meeting of friends would help bring much-needed rays of sunshine and glimpse of hope into our lives and the lives of the less fortunate. So, why should YOU participate in this meeting? • You are TRULY missed and it would be GREAT to see you again. We will be celebrating our longstanding friendship together as we will begin the meeting with a clink of glasses of wine, coffee, tab water, fizzy sprinkle water, natural juice, artificial juice or even milk. (of course not ALLLL of them together). • Celebrate together HIRN’s 10th anniversary. The official work of HIRN has started in 2010, though its initial work started to take root as early as 2002. The ongoing work and the GREAT impact it had on the most vulrnable would not have taken place if it wasn’t for YOU. So, it seems logical enough that when we celebrate a milestone, you would be HIRN’s Guest of Honor. • For the sake of transparency, we wanted to tell you about what we have done with the donations that we have received. HIRN will provide a short presentation that some of the activities we carried out in 2019 just to inform you where your money was spent. • To muster additional financial resources for HIRN as donations will be accepted at the event as to make additional changes and improvements on the ground. SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOO, HIRN is inviting you to a zoom meeting on June 1, 2020, at 6:00 PM UK time, 8:00 PM Jerusalem time, 1:00 PM New York time. A zoom invitation will be sent to you soon. Sports teams have dropped Puma sponsorship and pledged not to join the #PumaFam until Puma ends its complicity in Israel’s violations of Palestinian rights. News of Puma’s 100 million euro offer to Sterling has reportedly caused tension within the company, which has recently furloughed staff members due to cutbacks during the pandemic. Urge Raheem Sterling to Reject Puma’s offer as long as Puma supports Israeli apartheid. Catch up on club news

Hi all, there's been lots going on in the wider club recently so I thought I'd do a wee round up for those who've missed it... An update on our community veg box scheme. We still need volunteer packers and particularly DBS-checked drivers, as this is growing and growing. We are seeing people in real need and this isn't going to get better as soon as lockdown is over. If you have any contacts, we're also always grateful for any food donations! Please please please have a think about whether you could do this. It's very rewarding! We need people to keep the club going, it doesn't just run itself unfortunately :-) And don't worry that you're not qualified or too new in the club, that really doesn't mater! I'd be happy to have a chat about what it entails. And you'd get lots of support from us as we hand over and beyond. Anyway, stay safe. Stay cow.
