Martin,

I would vote for samba4 as a active directory because some protocols and 
services are very limited with LDAP only (e.g. Alfresco with CIFS, SPP, 
SSO). Configuration is different but AD can be used thru the ldap 
interface. See my other mail concerning  ssh pubkeys and kerberos.
