So what to do with DNS?

Since I donated the domain, the DNS is currently managed under my 
godaddy account. I would much prefer for the DNS records to be under the 
management of the Board, or alternatively the INFRA committee.

We could host a DNS server in the virtual infrastructure but if the host 
was down there could be pain.

Perhaps it would be better to look at a free dns provider e.g. 
http://freedns.afraid.org/
