[OOTB-addons] Draft of ADDONS review report and first (example) review

Hello all,

as Oksana has mentioned on the general mailing list, I used the time after New Year’s to do a review of the JavaScript Console. Different to what Oksana wrote, it isn’t the first review since Angel already did a review of the Uploader Plus addon. My goal with this review was to help me draft a format which we could use to document our review findings. This format should be a simple template that can be copied and adapted for further reviews, and should contain the most important informations – mainly any violations/issues we found, the basic compatibility checks (as far as the reviewer did them) and the actual review result. Together with a checklist-like criteria catalog and some examples, I hope the job for reviewers should be a simple step-by-step process. (Of course, the issue of tools to automate some of the checks is another matter and should be pursued in another discussion.)

I wanted to post this draft to our committee before it was publicly communicated (e.g. via Twitter), but am still waiting on Florian Maul for his thoughts - as the main addon developer I wanted him to weigh in. But now, it is out there and it is also high time for a discussion about this. So please check https://github.com/OrderOfTheBee/addons/blob/master/addon-reviews/JavaScript%20Console.md and reply back with any comments you may have.

Some notes:

· This review format is primarily intended for our internal organization / overview – we have to discuss (amongst us and with WEB/MKT) how this is to be included in the web page

· I have prepared an abstract data JSON draft for a simple listing of reviewed addons on the web page (https://github.com/OrderOfTheBee/addons/blob/master/addon-web/addons-listing.json) – please check this as well and leave comments

· There hasn’t been much feedback regarding the suggestions about review criteria last November (apart from Angel), so this is also still considered in a draft state and open for discussion (https://github.com/OrderOfTheBee/addons/wiki/Inclusion-criteria-overview)

Regards
Axel
